Cave Canem shakes the house
Erica Doyle, Yona Harvey, and Tyehimba Jess presented a stunning reading tonight at Bucknell Hall. I had fucking goosebumps for most of the hour, and for a good twenty minutes afterward talking with some of my students who'd attended. What a kick-ass start to the fall reading series. The bar's been set, y'all. If you get the chance to hear any of these poets, go.
Thanks so much for the comments, Ron! It means a lot. I know that I had a wonderful time reading at the Stadler and talking to the students afterwards, and I can speak for Tyehimba and Yona that they had a blast, too. Not to mention, I got to hang out and read with my friends. It doesn't get much better than that! Tyehimba also just won a Whiting award. Whoa! --Erica
